Conference A Success!
I think it goes without saying that the first one day drive-in conference was a success! Our outstanding speakers shared information that we can all use to improve our programming and processes within our institutions. Hopefully everyone left feeling a new energy that we can use to make our "hot" programs even "hotter"!!
Karen LaMarsh and her planning committee did a great job of putting the program together and working through the process of restructuring our traditional conference schedule to fit into a one day format. Thanks, Karen, for a job well done!!
Congratulations are in order for our award winners! Susan Wert with Columbus State University won the Outstanding Innovative Programming Award for her "Activ8 Summer Camps" program: Cherry Denney is the recipient of our Lifetime Membership Award, and Melanie Baer with The University of Georgia won a Professional Development Scholarship. Great job!!
So, what's up next for GAEA?
In August we will reinstate the W.R. Brown Institute with a series of one hour webinars. These webinars will happen take place on Thursday afternoons in August and September and will be free for GAEA members. Stay tuned for more information about this.
2010 is an election year! Our current Board of Directors will fulfill their responsibilities at the end of the 2010 conference. Please think about serving our organization by holding an office. It's a great way to get more involved and to learn even more about the organization. (Plus, it's lots of fun, too!) If you are interested in serving in this capacity, please send me an email and let me know.
I hope you all have a great summer filled with hot-hot-hot programs and memorable experiences. Please let your board know if we can help you with anything!
See ya'll soon!
