GAEA was chartered on April 2, 1959, as the Georgia Adult Education Council,
Inc. In the spring of 1975, the council became the Georgia Adult Education
Association, Inc., and functions today as the umbrella organization serving
adult educators from all segments of the adult education profession. Throughout
its history, GAEA has attempted to provide a leadership mechanism for adult
educators across the full spectrum of the profession. Its mission is to promote
and develop adult/continuing education in Georgia among groups and individuals
engaged in the field of adult/continuing education through communication,
interaction and professional development that serves people of Georgia.
What GAEA Offers
Annual Conference with Cutting Edge Workshops: Conference topics range from
cutting edge technology to hot topics in the field of adult education. The
conference features speakers from a wide range of backgrounds with topics that
cover the many facets of adult and continuing education.
Networking: GAEA has a wide variety of networking opportunities for its
members.
Scholarships: GAEA offers an annual scholarship to a member pursuing an advanced
degree in the field as well as professional development scholarships.
