For the first time, leadership from the Technical College System of Georgia, the University System of Georgia, and the Public School System are joining forces at the conference.   Dr. Kathryn Hornsby (TCGS), Dr. Martha Venn (USG), and Richard Woods (State School Superintendent) will discuss the collaborative efforts taking place at the state level to address the workforce issues in Georgia.

Wendell Dallas serves as vice president of operations for Atlanta Gas Light and Chattanooga Gas, and is responsible for day-to-day operations, including    safety, compliance, operational excellence and financial performance, for more than 700,000 customers. He has more than 25 years of operations, management and engineering experience in the natural gas industry.

In September 2013, Mr. Dallas received the Multicultural Leadership Award by the Georgia Diversity Council for his commitment to advancing his peers in the organization and community. Mr. Dallas also serves on several non-profit, community and industry boards. He co-chairs the Georgia Literacy  Commission, a business-led commission of the Georgia chamber of Commerce, the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education and Literacy For All.  He is a gubernatorial appointee and board chairman of the State of Georgia’s Workforce Development Board. He serves on the boards of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and Auburn University’s Engineering Alumni Council, and is past board chairman of Gwinnett Technical College and Communities in Schools of Georgia.
